The tradition of Bulgarian gardening in Hungary has been officially inscribed in the National Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.

The inscription was announced during Bulgaria’s Independence Day celebrations in Hungary, with a wreath laying at the monument honoring Bulgarian gardeners who founded the settlement of Halásztelek. The official award ceremony is scheduled for October 17 in Szentendre, preceding the Day of Hungarian-Bulgarian Friendship which falls on 19 October.
